The Case Against Sugar
An incredible history of sugar and the damage it caused throughout history and still today.
A well-researched and written compilation covering the growth of the global sugar industry. Not only does it cover the evolution of the industry but how the life of humans has been affected. This is a book everyone needs to read. I find myself upset as I have faced my own health challenges with cholesterol, weight, and hypertension. In the 80's and 90's, the focus was to settle for pharmaceuticals as an aid and to focus primarily on saturated fat and sodium reduction. The effects of sugar on the endocrine system was well know but was suppressed by big sugar companies. It is not hard now to understand why some call sugar the new tobacco.
