ABOUT ME

I have been active in inks and coatings, advanced materials, and medicinal chemistry for over 25 years.  My lab develops novel chemistries and invents products people touch every day.  The product development and analytical laboratory is located in Gilford, New Hampshire. The lab also specializes in formulation, competitive analysis, market consulting and medical devices.

Previously, as Director at EFI, I led a world-class team to develop and commercialize hardware and inkjet inks to fuel the shift from analog to digital manufacturing.

Prior to EFI, I was Vice President at Chromatic Technologies leading the expansion of their product portfolio as well as key additions to the patent war chest. As VP I was responsible for the product roadmap, stage gate, project management, and intellectual property. My synthetic team specialized in design and complex purification of microencapsulated materials, leuco dye synthesis, photochromic and thermochromic materials. I worked closely with key clients worldwide (CPG and government agencies), Operations and global CMO's to develop and produce new products. Product categories include plastic masterbatch, paste inks for lithographic dry and wet offset, textile inks, writing instruments, gravure and flexographic inks for packaging in water based, heat set, solvent, and radiation curable markets.

Before CTI, I had the privilege to lead product development and the international expansion for Quad Graphics. I led a global team to build a European inks and coating manufacturing plant in Warsaw, Poland. My team developed inks and coatings for the most productive analog and digital printers in the world. I was responsible for developing and production of pigment dispersions, heat set offset, sheetfed inks, solvent based inkjet, water based inkjet inks, UV/LED/radiation curable inkjet inks, adhesives, coatings and conductive materials for printed electronics in North and South America and Europe.

In graduate school, my work was featured on a cover story in Current Medicinal Chemistry. I developed drugs for the brain and central nervous system. My work has been cited over 950 times. Collaborators include Harvard Medical School, Medical School of Vienna, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, among others...

I have a Doctorate in organic chemistry, an MS, and dual BS. I am adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Key Executives graduate of Harvard Business School, President of Village West Commercial Condominium Association, and actively consulting.
